Northern Exposure- Dominican Republic Surf Weekend

Bringing another event to your attention today that we are doing here in the DR called "Northern Exposure" this coming weekend. Zapstix, Airbound Apparel, BERN Utld, Monumental Films, and GoPro will be hosting a weekend of Surf, Music, and Art to help raise money for The Linda Jo Foundation, which raises money for youth surfers in under privileged areas and the North Shore of the Dominican Republic is currently the focus. Coinciding with the surf contest going on at Playa Grande, (where a few Zapstix/Airbound/BERN sponsored riders will be participating), there will be two nights of music, art, films, and all around good times held at Aloha Bar and Onno's in downtown Cabarete, with music by Pat Hall, Eric Brigmond from the Donovan Frankenrieter Band, Will Connor, Cody Thompson, and films by Luke Thorpe of Monumental Films, (who will be showing his latest creation "Sounds of Waves"), and artwork on display by Hege Holt and John T. O'Callaghan of Airbound Apparel.

With their common interests revolving around the ocean, this group of musicians, artists, film makers and all around water enthusiasts have found themselves on the north shore of the Dominican Republic and they couldn't be happier. The small surf/kite town of Cabarete is the home to a very diverse community full of creative travelers. Cabarete is an unexpected low key atmosphere to meet worldly artists, musicians, surfers, kiters and all around unique people. One day in Cabarete can give you a fun surf session in the morning, kiting until sunset, then out to an all night party on the beach.

As you can see our goal is to try to start promoting the DR as a low-key alternative to PR. Any exposure you can help us with on this would be awesome. We will be having photographers, videographers, etc on hand the whole time to capture the action.
