Just got a call from one of my buddies from college today saying, hey, congrats, I just saw that work you have in Kevin's book. I had no idea. Kevin
O'Callaghan is my mentor (not my father) The first day of his class he was calling roll and said John... wait a second, John
O'Callaghan, I responded with yep, my name is John
O'Callaghan and I have my fathers last name, but I never met him(not true, but oddly enough my fathers name is Kevin, real weird) He taught me almost everything I know from design to work ethic to what's really important when trying to reach a goal. One of my favorite quotes from him is "It's not about crushing f****
ing berries to make paint" or "what the hell else do you have better to do right now, go surfing, get back in the shop and get to work" He's one of the best people I have had the pleasure of working with. I took his now legendary 3D Design course while I was attending
SVA. While in the class you have the
opportunity to get involved with all of his crazy... I mean crazy projects. This is the first time he's ever put a book out and was it worth the wait. I
recommend this book to anyone who has an interest whatsoever in creativity as a whole.
Here's some of the pieces I have in the book.
